Embrace Performing Arts came to life in Autumn 2012. Founder Tiffany Tjosvold was working on a directed study in mixed ability dance at the University of Victoria and in the process fell in love with the infinite possibilities inclusive performance holds. This first foray into the world of mixed ability work culminated in a workshop production called Familiar Embraces.

 

In February Tiffany was able to travel to Montevideo, Uruguay to participate in the DanceAbility International teacher training program. She had the pleasure of studying under DanceAbility founder Alito Alessi, and meeting other artists from around the world interested in creating inclusive dance.

 

Since returning to the country with new knowledge, Tiffany has facilitated introductory workshops to mixed ability dance around the city of Victoria.
